CompassPoint has three signature leadership series: Executive Director 101, Management 101, and Thriving as an Executive Director. Each of these intensive courses draws from our core curricula and from the breadth of expertise and teaching styles of the CompassPoint staff. Now with hundreds of alumni, these series prepare senior managers and executives for success and help them prevent burnout as they pursue deeper community impact through their organizations. Management 101 and Executive Director 101 are intensive three-day courses that cover the key content areas needed by senior level nonprofit managers and executive directors to effectively and confidently lead a community based nonprofit in today’s environment.

Thriving as an Executive Director is a four-session course that blends leadership instruction with personal coaching. It is designed to help leaders discover their core strengths and apply them to the challenges and opportunities they face in nonprofit leadership. Course content includes identifying and calling on personal talents and strengths, establishing a personal network of leadership support, identifying and tapping the talents and strengths of those you supervise, and creating the board you want.

CompassPoint staff experts teach these signature courses. Five senior staff members co-teach Management 101 and Executive Director 101. Thriving as an Executive Director is taught by Rich Snowdon, a long-time CompassPoint affiliate and certified life coach.
