| Nonprofit CPAs Convene in San Francisco to address Critical Issues Facing the Bay Area Nonprofit Sector | |

Contact: SAN FRANCISCO, California – Monday, November 5, 2001 – Beyond the Bottom Line 2001: The Northern California Conference on Nonprofit Accountability and Finance. Sessions such as "Managing Funding Sources", “Making Sense of the 990” and “Establishing Internal Controls” will provide nonprofits with the concrete tools and solutions to survive and thrive in this new era. In addition, the event will address the need for more unrestricted funds from foundations, finance in the changing climate and other elements of the post-September 11th events and the economic downturn. This year's event also features Irma Herrera, Executive Director for Equal Rights Advocates, and David Salniker, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer for the Tides Center. The conference will be held at the Marines Memorial Club, 609 Sutter Street, San Francisco. Conference registration is $65-$125 sliding scale and includes lunch. Registration begins at 8:00 am, followed by an opening plenary at 8:30 am, which precedes a day-long schedule of 16 workshops, including a lunchtime keynote. The conference concludes at 4:45 pm. CPA participants receive 7 hours of CPA continuing professional education credit. This annual conference sheds light on the big issues facing the Bay Area nonprofit sector and examines their financial underpinnings. The targeted audience includes nonprofit executive directors, nonprofit financial managers and nonprofit CPAs. Beyond the Bottom Line 2001 is a collaborative effort of the San Francisco Nonprofit Interest Group of the California CPA Society and CompassPoint Nonprofit Services, the nation’s largest technical assistance provider to nonprofit agencies.
